Here’s a sample of what a day in the life of a Yulu Account Director for Community Engagement and Programming might entail: Directing strategic research, planning and consultancy for a new partners Establishing and driving the key programming and impactful strategic partnerships required to deliver our clients’ social impact and sustainability strategies, with a particular focus on equity. This might include leading an in-depth planning session and drafting reports and other materials that summarize strategic plans Managing cross-functional teams with the ability to pull together various, and sometimes conflicting, inputs into a co-created plan of action Sitting in, leading, and contributing to client meetings to ensure strategic communications goals are being met, and consideration to evolving or emerging issues is given Encouraging your clients to think beyond the status quo and helping them advance and inspire their industry Using participatory research methods, partnering with frontline communities, or working with advocacy movements Ideating and implementing ways to meet the communities you are serving where they are already at e.g. using Facebook or mailing hardcopy information to connect with rural or remote communities Proposing new ideas to help advance areas within the agency during a management meeting Leading a spokesperson or media training workshops Vetting new business prospects to ensure alignment with Yulu’s social impact mandate Identifying new potential social impact clients and creating targeted new business proposals that will excite the potential partner and addresses their business / organization goals Pitching and closing an exciting new social impact clients alongside Yulu’s Vice President or Managing Director, as well as independently Hosting a Lunch & Learn for the team on your designated Playing a key role in shaping Yulu’s coveted community and team culture Playing an active role within the local and international Representing Yulu at an industry networking or community event Coaching team members, and providing position and constructive feedback on: how to apply critical thought to an upcoming creative campaign or impact program, and how to implement program management and community engagement best practices Managing and monitoring Growth Plans for your direct reports Ensuring Yulu’s year-end impact report transparently reflects authentic impact Ability to take individual ownership and work collaboratively: Possess collaboration skills and experience mentoring and supporting colleagues with diverse skill sets Ability to work in a high paced environment managing to tight deadlines, influencing stakeholders and rightsholders, and delivering with flawless execution Other requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent lived experience) Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in a communications agency, or in-house communications, or related experience with program management, community / public engagement and / or DEI consultation A background in stakeholder and rightsholder relations is also highly valued (i.e. advocating for / supporting services and programs for frontline communities) Knowledge of and experience implementing community engagement best practices, with a track record for creating seats at decision-making tables for everyone A track record of taking an idea from theory and analysis to launch: designing, developing, and executing initiatives from beginning to end, creating KPIs and metrics (quantitative and qualitative - like the strength of relationship) to track progress and measure success Compensation range: Commensurate with experience, ranging between $81,000 – $85,000 annually + competitive extended benefits & incentives Terms: Permanent, full-time.
