Job Description:

Job Summary:

  • Designs, codes, debugs, tests, documents and supports in-house developed programs and customization of vendor-supplied applications software.
  • Assists with software upgrades. Develops reports using site-standard report writers.
  • Develops and supports multiple system interfaces and integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and tests vendor-supplied software packages.
  • Determines compatibility with existing systems. Installs and tests vendor upgrades and patches.
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting for vendor software. Researches the setup and functionality of available software modules, Obtains a solid understanding of business processes/user functions that these modules directly support.
  • Obtains and shares knowledge of how various application modules inter-link and affect one another.
  • Converts logical design into program code. Analyses, reviews and rewrites programs to adapt to new requirements in response to business requests.
  • Responsible for entry/mid-level coding assignments and participates in code review sessions with direction from Lead developers.
  • Analyses, designs and develops code in support of multiple system interfaces and data integration services.
  • Provides daily support to functional end-users with system issues, questions and processes.
  • Performs debugging tasks to resolve system issues. Takes active steps to increase understanding of end-user s functions to support applications development process.
  • Coordinates with appropriate departments to ensure that necessary communication is occurring to allow applications to function properly and efficiently.
  • Coordinates the dissemination of information and reports related to application upgrades, fixes, and new processes; to include analysis of the changes and the effects on the existing modules. Develops system and program test plans under the guidance of Lead developer.
  • Prepares and/or obtains test data. Conducts program and system testing. Evaluates test results/defect logs and performs necessary code revisions Prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development. Maintains current system design documents, and program documentation.
  • Performs reporting tasks utilizing site-standard reporting tools.
  • Logs, monitors, and manages event calls regarding reported problems. Responsible for triaging daily user trouble tickets and performing first-level response Serves on project teams. Participates in regularly scheduled project review/status meetings internally and with client departments Serves as a technical and functional resource to business units.
  • Documents change control.
  • Performs on-call support functions. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment, with weekend or nighttime work to implement changes when users are off the system.
  • Works non-standard hours as required On-call rotation to provide technical support to end users for urgent needs
  • Extensive computer work with prolonged sitting
  • Department of Defence security clearance required

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field with courses in programming and database systems or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of general application development and support experience
  • 1 year of experience supporting large enterprise-wide applications.
  • 1 year of experience programming and report writing, using MS SQL and Oracle DBMS.
  • Preferred 4 years of general application development and support experience
  • 2+ years of experience with EPIC, Cerner or closely related medical management applications.
  • 2+ years of experience programming and report writing, using Microsoft SQL and Oracle DBMS
  • Healthcare Industry experience

  • Knowledge of Tool Control Language (TCL scripting language required for Landacorp applications only);
