APPLICATION ENGINEER
Salary: Up to $105,000 DOE
Type: Direct Hire
Location: Fountain Valley, CA
Industry: Aerospace and Defense

Provide technical assistance as needed on new and legacy assemblies, this may include customer visits as needed. Be a key driver in the integration of new technology to solve problems, expand capabilities and be competitive within the market. Work with Quoting Team on New business to accurately review and understand customer requirements. Be a key person in helping to develop Estimators and filling in skill set gaps. Develop, propose, and execute beneficial cost reduction activities. Develop manufacturing processes by reviewing customer documentation. Provide technical insight both internally and to customers as needed. Develop drawing updates, provide work instructions, assist with labor estimates, and determine equipment and component needs. Fix technical issues as needed.

• Component part creation
• BOM Creation & drawing review
• Component discovery and cross to equivalents.
• Loading & verifying BOMs into Quote workbook/Quote Module
• Labor cost estimation and review
• Review of re-quotes for labor and labor variance along with any special instructions
• Contract Review of Customer drawings, Specifications and manufacturing methods
• Review New Quotes/Assemblies for required equipment (crimp tooling, overmolds, test mates, etc.)
• Train and mentor Estimators/Quoting Team
• Time studies to keep labor estimates up to date with current production processes (In Labor/Quote Workbook)
• Research & develop best practice manufacturing processes.
• Stay knowledgeable about new materials and processes related to business.
• Determine proper tooling and equipment necessary to perform each assembly process.
• Continuously improve manufacturing processes by analyzing and planning workflow
• Develop team to ensure all materials are assembled in compliance with designated workmanship standards.
• Work with all necessary departments on the integration of new products.
• Complete and or oversee special projects as assigned.
• Provide engineering support to customers as necessary.
• Review and process engineering change orders from customers
• Perform manufacturing engineering tasks as necessary.
• Review and understand customer QA and Assembly requirements and documentation
