You will help create scalable, efficient, and secure systems that power the software behind our aerospace innovations.
Position Overview:
The Back-End Developer will focus on building and maintaining the server-side logic, APIs, and databases that drive Chimera Rocket Labs’ applications and systems. You will work closely with front-end developers, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain back-end services, APIs, and server-side logic to support web and software applications.
Implement robust, secure, and scalable solutions for data processing and storage.
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
Develop and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in existing systems.
Stay up-to-date with emerging back-end technologies, frameworks, and trends to continuously improve our systems.
Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of experience as a Back-End Developer or in a similar role.
Proficiency in back-end programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, Ruby, or Go.
Experience with frameworks such as Django, Express.js, Spring Boot, or Flask.
Strong understanding of database systems, including relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote work environment.
Experience in aerospace or high-tech industries is a bonus but not required.
