Peak Partners has a digital technology client who is seeking a Backend Java Engineer. This is a fully remote 6-month contract with likelihood of extension. Candidates must be US citizens or authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain core backend application logic, focusing on building scalable, efficient, and secure services in Java. Build and maintain RESTful APIs for internal functionality and external integrations, ensuring secure, efficient, and seamless data flow between services. Develop robust error handling, logging, and monitoring mechanisms to support reliable API communication. Participate in refactoring and addressing bottlenecks to enhance system efficiency and maintainability. Develop and maintain integrations with third-party APIs, ensuring data consistency, error handling, and security in all external communications. Write and maintain unit and integration tests for backend services, actively troubleshoot issues, and uphold coding standards through code reviews to ensure high-quality Java code.
