As a
business intelligence developer lead on the Performance Measurement and Analysis team, you'll collaborate with Analysts in converting recurring SAS workloads into well-designed DBT models. This team is crucial to Progressive's data-driven decision-making for a ~$1.9 billion arm of the company. Leveraging DBT as the orchestration engine, they also build and manage the PMA database in Snowflake, a Data Mart that captures interactions between customers, employees, and business processes. As the BI developer lead, you'll work with internal analysts to understand their requirements, collaborate with peers, present unique findings to leadership, and implement solutions.
This is a remote position for US based work only.
Must-have qualifications - A minimum of 7 years related work experience with working knowledge of designing/developing, programming and supporting software programs/applications.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in in an Information Technology or Business discipline or related field of study (e.g., Computer Science, MIS, Business Management) and a minimum of 4 years designing/developing, programming and supporting software programs/applications.
Preferred skills - Expert-level knowledge of SQL with a strong ability to create SQL ETL processes.
- Prior use of DBT to build, test, and maintain transformation workflows.
- Experience with SAS or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new programming languages.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and translate complex technical information for diverse audiences.
- Experience with Snowflake and cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, as well as use of Python for data manipulation and pipeline tasks.
- Ability to mentor and coach team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Compensation - $114,000 - $143,000/year depending on position level and experience
- Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
