The company's main office is in Burlington, Ontario and additional offices are in Montreal, Quebec, Calgary & Edmonton, Alberta.  Our Channel Partners and Authorized Service Partners provide coverage and support across Canada.   We are looking for a Bilingual Sales Development Representative (1 y contract – Mat Leave) to join our group. This person will seek new business opportunities by contacting, creating and developing relationships with potential, existing and prior customers.  To be successful in this role, the person should have previous experience in developing and nurturing leads into active sales opportunities and meeting sales targets. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact until closure of the deal.  You are motivated and results driven and enjoy finding ways to connect with potential customers to develop their interest. You must be enthusiastic, motivated to succeed and love interacting with people both internal and external to the organization.  You see challenges and you work with the team to find solutions to win. This role is national in focus and will work with a team of other customer development reps to provide support based on priority in the respective areas of the country.   What is the role about?   Are you a motivated and results driven person? Building a long-term relationship of trust with customers is the key to success!   Which tasks will you perform?    Use market based customer lists and initiate contact with potential customers through phone calls, i.e. outbound prospecting/cold calling Use market based project lists to find new customer and new project opportunities  Respond to incoming inquiries including specific customer requests and marketing campaign leads to develop into an opportunity.   Directly communicate effectively with customers by way of phone, email and video conference.  Identify customer needs (technical and commercial), qualify their interest and viability, and determine the appropriate product/service and create a relationship to help drive the sale. Set up meetings or calls with between existing and prospective customers Be able to present our company and its applicable offering to potential customers Expand stakeholders within customers beyond the currently known Manage customers within their account package  Create proposals for opportunities as needed and perform appropriate follow-up Reconnect with former customers whose activity has gone inactive Cross sell to active customers purchasing only 1-2 products to expand product adoption Maintain customer, lead and opportunity data in CRM system Define and complete negotiations as required and within own responsibility Build long-term trusting relationships with clients Stay up to date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans All other duties as assigned. What do we expect from you?    Post-secondary technical education preferably in instrumentation, process control, automation, electronics or engineering  2-5 years of sales and/or new customer development experience in a technical field or a similar is desired Customer service passion and skills, interpersonal skills, time management skills, analytical skills, mathematical skills, ability to meet deadlines Fluency in French and English is preferred (oral & written)   What can you expect from us?    We are a family-owned, highly committed company with a sustainable vision.
