Good Trade Co. is a social enterprise coffee company that works directly with farmers and their communities in rural Colombia. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial-minded coffee addict to combine 3 distinct, yet complementary, roles. In this position, you will have the opportunity to build strong professional relationships with new and existing wholesale clients to increase our wholesale program. This includes personally delivering orders directly to the customer. As part of deliveries, you’ll also be responsible for stocking our 2 coffee shop locations (in Kensington and the Crossroads Market) each week while also taking on 1-2 barista shifts. This is a unique entry-level role that provides an opportunity for the right person to build out their dream position and expand further into business development, learning the ins-and-outs of selling a premium product on many different levels. The weekly hours break down like this… Business Development - 10 hours (mobile and work-from-home) Deliveries - 4-6 hours (in the community, with your own vehicle) Barista - 10-15 hours (at Kensington or Crossroads) Compensation: $16-18 per hour + business development incentives Successful Candidates look like this… You are insanely curious and have a genuine desire to improve - everything from sales skills to coffee industry knowledge You enjoy learning and are highly motivated to share your knowledge with others You are highly organized and the thought of achieving goals gets you excited You are nimble and love to work in a results‐driven organization that tests everything You are passionate about supporting Colombian students and farmers experiencing marginalization You embody the intangible skills: work ethic, punctuality, energy, attitude, learning from feedback and going the extra mile The Role: Business Development (10 hours per week) Direct sales - cold calling, business development Develop a strong sales process at the grassroots level Generate and convert assigned and unassigned leads Utilize marketing materials to stimulate sales Sell and execute promotions Grow assigned and unassigned accounts to achieve sales targets Provide superior service to grow relationships and create loyalty Deliveries (4-6 hours per week) Pick Up & Deliver Supplies for the coffee shops (using your own vehicle) Our stocking list will guide you to pick up supplies like milk, vegetables, cups, and paper supplies from multiple suppliers. Review packing slips to ensure accuracy, reporting inaccuracies to our Lead Barista. Deliver to our coffee shops and put items away as instructed. Wholesale Deliveries & Customer Interaction Safely transport packages to designated locations within specified timeframes. Load and unload with care, ensuring the integrity of the contents. Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, addressing inquiries and concerns. Obtain customer signatures as required and ensure a positive delivery experience. Barista (10-15 hours per week) Share Good Trade’s origin story and the social impact we’re making. Teach customers about coffee (growing, production, roasting, and brew methods) Take orders from customers in a welcoming and engaging way Enter orders accurately into a user-friendly Point of Sale software Up-sell and share special promotions to hit daily and weekly sales goals Ensure every customer understands our story and why we exist Create specialty coffee items (pull espresso shots, texture milk, etc.) Keep the coffee shop welcoming and approachable through cleanliness Organize displays of products to intrigue customers and inspire sales Clean and care for equipment and furniture by following cleaning schedules What You Bring: 1-2 years of direct sales experience (food service or consumer products experience preferred) or 1-2 years of Third Wave coffee experience and the gumption to succeed at direct sales Basic knowledge of the coffee process (farming, preparing, roasting, distribution) Knowledge of pulling espresso shots, creating latte art is a huge bonus Demonstrated ability to develop a sales plan and close deals Successful completion of High School (or equivalent) Excellent computer skills (we heavily rely on the ‘Cloud’ such as the Google Suite of software) Solid, warm people skills A valid driver's license (Class 5) and own reliable (small SUV or larger) Must be able to perform the physical aspects of the job involved in delivering products (lifting up to 40 pounds) Job Type: Part-time Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week Additional pay: Bonus pay Commission pay Application Question(s): Are you able to comfortably and safely life up to 40lbs?
