Wonder Box is a startup that provides STEAM-based activities and toys for families, schools and camps. At Wonder Box, learning = fun! We put together exciting, custom made, hands-on activities to teach Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) to children aged 4+. These activities are available on our online store and also offered to schools, camps, and other organizations. We are looking to hire a Business Development Manager with a track record of driving sales in the education sector. This is a highly self-driven and proactive leadership role where your work will directly impact the growth of Wonder Box. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their leadership skills and get involved with a startup. Responsibilities: Sales Leadership: Identify and contact schools, camps and other relevant organizations to secure introductory conversations. Working closely with Wonder Box’s CEO, understand the clients’ needs, develop new proposals and bring in new clients with a high conversion rate. Sales Strategy: Evaluate Wonder Box’s current sales strategy to identify strengths and gaps. Based on your evaluation, design and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to expand Wonder Box’s reach to new clients, sectors and geographies. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, continually evaluating their needs and ensuring Wonder Box is ready to meet them. Industry Insights: Stay updated on new trends in STEAM toys and activities, experiential education, and elementary education. What we are looking for: Minimum 5 years of track record in business development experience in the education sector. Strong track record and network in school boards, elementary schools, summer camps, community centres and other organizations that provide programming for children. In-depth understanding of the sales process in the elementary education sector. Experience in education sales across Canada would be a strong asset. Excellent relationship management skills, including an ability to quickly develop relationships with clients. Timing: Part-time (10 hours/week), 6 month contract Compensation: Up to $30/hour + Up to 10% commission with no cap. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
