We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Specialist to join our team, focused on expanding our home care services within Maryland. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Maryland’s Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers, including Community First Choice (CFC) and Community Personal Assistance Services (CPAS), and a proven track record in business development. You will play a critical role in identifying growth opportunities, building relationships, and driving referrals for our traditional home care services.

• Business Development:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the client base, focusing on HCBS waivers and private-pay services.
  • Cultivate relationships with referral sources, including hospitals, discharge planners, social workers, and community organizations.
  • Establish partnerships with local Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), and Medicaid case managers.

• Market Knowledge:

  • Stay up-to-date on Maryland’s Medicaid programs, including CFC and CPAS, and maintain a deep understanding of regulatory changes affecting home care.
  • Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities and refine marketing strategies accordingly.

• Client Engagement:

  • Educate potential clients and families about the company’s services, emphasizing how HCBS programs can help them access care.
  • Provide support and guidance during the enrollment process for eligible waiver programs.

• Collaboration:

  • Partner with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless service delivery for new clients.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, caregivers, and internal teams to address any issues or opportunities for improvement.

• Reporting & Tracking:

  • Maintain detailed records of outreach, referral activities, and client acquisitions.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on business development progress and market challenges.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, marketing, or sales within the home care or healthcare industry.
  • Prior experience working with HCBS waivers, including CFC and CPAS in Maryland, is required.

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Maryland Medicaid and waiver programs.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with referral sources and navigate the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive results in a competitive environment.

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
