Overview:
This Clinical Integrations Engineer role will drive Clinical Integration efforts for Pediatrix and will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Clinical Integrations. The ideal candidate will be strong technically with system design / architecture skills. They will also have experience in modern integration technologies. They will help deliver scalable clinical integration solutions with an emphasis on security and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Be a trusted advisor to senior leaders regarding clinical integration efforts, developing a strong understanding of our organization’s integration needs.
2. Background in cloud related technologies, including architecture fundamentals.
3. Strong understanding of NextGen product, including their Rosetta and Mirth integration engines
4. Excellent communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high priority projects concurrently.
5. Ability to adapt to a fast-moving Clinical Integration landscape and keep pace with the latest thinking and technologies.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals and stakeholders.
7. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the software life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
8. Have a bias for action, understanding the important balance of speed and quality deliverables.
9. Monitor integration server performance and capacity against anticipated growth requirements.
10. Establish & maintain Lab interfaces with major clinical lab service organizations including (LabCorp, Quest, etc)
11. Establish & maintain medical device interfaces to improve clinical efficiency and increase patient safety.
12. Establish & maintain Hospital Integrations. This includes data transformations, master data mapping, filtering and alerting.
13. Work with RCM Vendor to develop required billing integrations.
14. Establish & maintain vendor integrations, including IMO, IMH, Phreesia, CareQuality, SureScripts (eRX)
15. Establish & maintain clinical imaging interfaces with Sonio, Viewpoint, As-Software, Vidistar, Ambra
16. Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
Technical Competencies:
1. Deep understanding of interoperability and system integration
2. Experience with EHR integrations (NextGen, Athena, EPIC, Cerner, eCW, etc)
3. FHIR, CCD-A, HL7, JSON, APIs (build and consume), Kafka
4. Experience with clinical imaging systems and devices (Fuji, GE, Ambra, Philips, Welch Allyn)
5. Experience with Agile, SCRUM, JIRA, Confluence, Kafka
6. Computer networking/interfacing protocols and concepts (VPNs, HTTPS, SFTP, TCP, MLLP, etc)
7. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio, O365)
Experience:
1. Minimum of 3yrs developing integrations across disparate systems
2. Minimum of 3yrs working with clinical systems
3. Minimum of 2yrs experience with integration related coding languages and protocols (Javascript, Java, python, CURL, HTTPS, JSON)
4. Experience in overseeing the architecture and quality of deliverables from the clinical engineering teams.
Education:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Cloud certifications in fundamentals, administration, or solutions architect (Azure, AWS, GCP) preferred
