COCI QA Remote You will perform testing according to predetermined test plans, create new test plans based upon new requirements and lessons learned. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who works well with developers and business users, finds creative ways to identify potential system problems and thrives in a fast-paced agile work environment. Regular attendance at scrum ceremonies and team meetings is mandatory. Responsibilities: Perform software testing in accordance with requirements and associated integrations; identifies and documents software bugs, defects, or errors using Jira and in accordance with Agile methodologies. Perform smoke and regression testing in accordance with software functionality. Records results in Jira or other documentation systems as required. Consider diverse end-user behaviors when creating and executing test plans. Use familiarity with UI/UX design principles to augment feedback provided to the development team. Documents testing plans, procedures, and test cases; reviews documentation created by other Quality Assurance (QA) Engineers to ensure testing scenarios can be repeated with subsequent releases and fixes. May participate in product design reviews, provide input on functional requirements, product design, and potential problems. Meets with product design teams and software engineers to discuss verification protocols on a regular basis. Use development tools available in a browser to collect detailed information used to assist the development team in identifying the source of errors or various applications behaviors. Collaborate with team members as needed to assist each other in validating bugs, determining steps to reproduce and to provide clear communications to other organizational units. Ensures that software problems identified during testing are documented in the established 'bug' tracking system; ensures future testing includes re-testing of identified problems and issues. Be familiar with accessibility tools used for accessing web content. Testing on various browsers and types of devices (web applications) Participates in product testing schedules and strategies in accordance with project scope, software development, and release timelines. May write and execute testing automation scripts and troubleshoots testing automation systems. (Rainforest QA) Writes and reviews testing steps and testing plans; reports identified defects in a clear, concise, and complete manner; distinguishes defect severity and dependencies. Provides feedback to product design teams regarding level of detail in acceptance criteria of user stories; works collaboratively with the product design team to improve mutual understanding of product requirements resulting in optimized testing procedures. Proactively identifies exploratory testing and end-user behaviors that deviate from the expected usage of software products; adds additional testing scripts accordingly. Provides feedback regarding ways to continually improve testing practices and overall efficiency. Coordinates testing performed by external and/or crowd-sourced participants; ensures that the results of this testing provide validation of expected functionality and/or identification of software problems.
