We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer (Contractor) to contribute to the continued development, optimization, and scaling of our platform. This is a project-based, flexible contractor role ideal for developers who thrive in building user-friendly, secure, and scalable solutions that incorporate AI and data integration.
Scope of Work
What You Will Do:
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will build our MVP product, supporting our CTO in taking the current product from beta to production-ready.
This will also include the following responsibilities:
Platform Development & Maintenance
Develop and maintain full-stack web applications emphasizing front-end design and usability.
Build and maintain a web-based platform hosted on Replit, leveraging React.js for the frontend and PostgreSQL for the backend.
Translate design mockups from tools like Figma into responsive, high-quality web interfaces.
Optimize platform performance, scalability, and accessibility to meet ADA and WCAG standards.
Conduct testing and debugging to ensure solutions are robust and reliable.
Data Integration & Security:
Integrate with HRIS systems via Apideck to securely fetch and handle anonymized HRIS data.
Implement data anonymization techniques and robust security measures throughout the data lifecycle.
Required Expertise:
3+ years as a full-stack developer or in a similar role, particularly in a year zero to year three start up environment.
Strong proficiency in React.js and PostgreSQL with experience building secure, scalable web applications.
Familiarity with Apideck or other unified APIs.
Experience integrating AI/LLM tools like Perplexity and OpenAI.
Understanding of hosting environments like Replit.
Expertise in data protection, anonymization, and secure API integration.
Strong UX/UI development experience, with a portfolio showcasing design-driven projects.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledgeable of best practices in data privacy and security, particularly the latest protocols to safeguard user information.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and data, to align goals and ensure smooth project delivery.
Clearly articulate technical tradeoffs and recommendations in line with user experience and business objectives.
Ability to prioritize and execute rapid development cycles.
Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation Range: $50-75/hour commensurate with experience.

Location: This is a fully remote position. Superessence is a US-based company with staff distributed throughout the US. The contractor must be comfortable working with key stakeholders in both PST and EST time zones.
Contract Length: Negotiable, with an initial term of 3–6 months.
Hours Expected Per Week: Approximately 10–20 hours per week, with some virtual meetings with key stakeholders.
