This role offers a combination of in-office, remote, and travel-based work to meet client and business needs. This role is responsible for the British Columbia (BC) region, which includes traveling across BC branches, Divisional, and Head Office locations. The Data Communication Divisional office is located at 215 9440 202 St Langley, BC. The ideal candidate should be based out of the Lower Mainland BC or be willing to relocate.

The Business Developer for Data Communications is responsible for the British Columbia (BC) region, where they will build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying product opportunities, addressing customer needs, and providing accurate product information. They recommend optimal solutions based on industry knowledge and aim to achieve or surpass sales targets. This role involves strategizing marketing opportunities, introducing new products, and developing effective pricing strategies.
This role is key to driving growth and strengthening our market presence in BC by fostering customer relationships and delivering tailored solutions that meet industry needs.
What to expect in the role
Sales Growth: Collaborate with Account Managers and Suppliers to create a strategic sales plan targeting new and existing customers. Build relationships with decision-makers, identify potential needs, and showcase the benefits of EBH and partner manufacturers' products.
Customer Service: Build and maintain positive customer relationships through regular sales calls, needs assessment, and tailored product recommendations. Ensure customer satisfaction through follow-ups and providing necessary product or project support.
Quotations: Collaborate with Technical Inside Sales to develop and provide quotations, and independently input where required. Follow up on quotation logs and opportunities.
Internal Relations: Partner with Technical Inside Sales and Branch Account Managers to address customer needs and jointly serve accounts as necessary.
Training: Develop and deliver training materials and presentations for customers and internal teams. Facilitate training sessions, including lunch-and-learn events.
Ideal candidate profile
A diploma or degree in a related field
3+ years of established outside sales experience
Knowledge of Data Communication is considered an asset but is not a requirement
Reliable transportation (50% travel expected)
Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office Suite and CRM systems like Salesforce
Experience delivering formal presentations
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on follow-ups and relationship-building
Ability to create and execute both short and long-term sales plans
Ability to integrate industry trends into data communication growth strategies
An aptitude for marketing and business development.
