Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Database Administrator Contract Duration: 6+ Months Work Type: Remote Location: Salt Lake City, UTAbout the Role:As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of critical database systems. You will work closely with application support teams and other IT professionals to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our database infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Database Administration: Manage and maintain database systems, including Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, Sybase Replication, UDB DB2 SQL Rep, Q Replication, Paraccel, Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle. Infrastructure Support: Administer and maintain database servers, including hardware and software configurations. Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies. Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures. Security: Ensure database security by implementing appropriate security measures and access controls. Incident Management: Troubleshoot database issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime. Change Management: Manage database changes and upgrades in accordance with change management procedures. Capacity Planning: Plan for future database needs and capacity requirements. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of database procedures and configurations.
