Position Overview

World Animal Protection US is seeking a skilled Temporary Development Assistant to support our team members in their revenue generation efforts related to Individual (Annual) Giving and Partnership (Major) Giving.

In coordination with our US Individual Giving Manager, the Temporary Development Assistant will support fundraising efforts, including direct mail, telemarketing, texting, and digital giving campaigns. From time to time, the Temporary Development Assistant will also support the Senior Philanthropy Manager with administrative tasks related to travel, data entry, and donor stewardship.

This is a hourly, part-time, temporary role from the period of hire to December 19, 2025, with an expected commitment of 20 hours per week. The possibility for an extension beyond this time frame is dependent on additional funding and the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Individual Giving Manager and Development Team with integrated fundraising campaign tactics across direct mail, email, web, text, and telemarketing channels.
  • Work with the Individual Giving Manager to help launch a new digital animal adoption program in the US. Assist with the program’s rollout, donor experience, and customer support.
  • Manage EveryAction donor journey automations. Review existing automation workflows for efficiency and relevance. Propose and implement updates to automation, focusing on continued improvement.
  • Assist with the launch of new fundraising channels, such as a P2P (peer-to-peer) platform, when applicable.
  • Continuously track and stay up to date with local and international World Animal Protection news and fundraising industry developments. Curate relevant content and share with the Individual Giving Manager, Development Team, and external vendors.
  • Build, review, and deploy fundraising emails and donation pages in Every Action.
  • Assist the Senior Philanthropy Manager (when directed), with travel coordination; booking flights, securing hotels, submit expense receipts and under supervision interfacing with donors to secure face to face visits.
  • Support the Senior Philanthropy Manager (when directed) with data entry related to donor stewardship efforts which could include, inputting moves into Raisers Edge, uploading contact reports, and more.
  • Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor - Individual Giving Manager

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize projects, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects that deliver desired outcomes.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with donors and staff.
  • Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging (DEIAB) and creating spaces that enable diverse voices and perspectives.
  • Demonstrated success working in a flexible, remote working environment.

Strong candidates will also bring:

  • Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge and EveryAction or equivalent CRM.
  • Prior experience working with a marketing agency a plus.
  • A passion for protecting animals and commitment to our organization’s values.
  • Experience in project management and delivering against measurable benchmarks.
  • Prior experience working directly with donors a bonus.
  • Team player with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships across internal departments and teams.
