THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer (CDMO), the Development & Stewardship Coordinator will be an integral member of the development team and will successfully manage, implement and execute our annual fundraising plans. This role has a hand in all aspects of the fundraising plan, from the initial stages of planning and preparation through to execution and evaluation. This includes implementation of the annual development strategy focusing on charitable giving, including corporate donations, private foundation support, and individual donations.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund Development
•Alongside the Chief Development and Marketing Officer (CDMO), create an individual giving development plan that increases revenue to support the organization’s strategic direction.
•Contribute to the individual and direct response development plan and strategy, and execution of major milestones, including donor cultivation events, and gift and goal celebrations.
•Lead the development and activation of the individual giving program, including corporate contributions, individual gifts, and family foundations.
•Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors with a giving capacity of $1,000 -$5,000.
•Proactively identify, cultivate, and solicit new family foundation donors and funding opportunities that align with MNjcc priorities.
•Create tailored fundraising materials to align the prospective funder and new programming areas.
•Administrate finalized gift agreements and ensure all terms committed to are satisfied.
•Ensure maintenance of up-to-date prospect and donor records in the database.
•Provide major gift cultivation support to the ED and CDMO including prospect research, preparing for senior volunteer and donor meetings, and tracking pertinent donor activities.
•Prepare communication with donors, volunteers, and colleagues, such as biographical profiles, briefing notes for meetings, meeting agendas, letters, reports, and presentation proposals.
•Track and report on the revenue of all areas of development, in a weekly report for the team and a monthly report for the Board of Directors.
Donor Recognition & Stewardship
•Maintain and facilitate the MNjcc stewardship and recognition program to ensure the cultivation and retention of donors.
•Effectively steward donors to support renewal and identify major-level giving potential.
•Develop a recognition opportunity inventory and a calendar of activities for a variety of donor events.
•Maintain and communicate the MNjcc stewardship matrix.
•Maintain plans, processes and content for stewardship reporting and other collateral.
•Administrate gift entries and reconciliation with finance.
•Ensure adherence to all MNjcc policies and contribute to the review and revision of policies, including those related to gift acceptance.
•Write clear and compelling content for highly personalized stewardship.
•Contribute to departmental planning and goal setting, and track and evaluate progress against key performance indicators.
•Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
•Exceptional written communication skills, focusing on persuasive writing and pitch development tailored for the MNjcc community at large and corporate/institutional funders, as well as clear, data-driven reporting.
•Outstanding verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated success in building relationships and engaging key stakeholders.
•Knowledge of charitable space, philanthropy practices, and a desire to elevate donor experience.
•Strong blend of interpersonal skills, business acumen, and creativity.
•Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, including demonstrated experience managing donor databases and maintaining accurate, detailed records.
•Self-starter work ethic with the ability to problem solve independently and manage a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, agile, open-concept office environment.
•Demonstrates a strong understanding of constituent database management and platforms
•Collaborative, driven, and compassionate team player.
•Experience working within the Jewish community, as an asset.
•Proficient with the Windows operating system Microsoft Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite.
EDUCATION & EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
•2-3 years of fundraising experience, within a community-focused setting, an asset
•Demonstrated history of success in preparing and executing individual giving fundraising campaigns
•Post-secondary degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•A combination of skills and experience will be considered.
