Position: Azure DevOps Engineer Location: Remote Department: CJCR( Cadets & and Junior Canadian Rangers Contract: 12 Months possibility of extension Key Responsibilities: Cloud Security & Governance: Assist in securing and governing cloud assets, ensuring compliance with best practices and organizational standards. DevSecOps Implementation: Apply DevSecOps standards and best practices, integrating security measures into the development lifecycle. Strategic Advisory: Provide expert input, guidance, and recommendations on the deployment of standardized and secure cloud resources to Canadian Junior Cadets and Rangers (CJCR). Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Configure and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) objects into the CJCR Azure Landing Zone, ensuring optimal infrastructure setup. Operational Cloud Support: Deliver operational support for the CJCR Azure Landing Zone, including monitoring and troubleshooting. Cloud Migration: Contribute to and facilitate the migration of on-premises applications and assets to the Azure cloud environment, ensuring a smooth transition. Knowledge Transfer: Lead knowledge-sharing sessions for cloud migration, continuous integration, and deployment best practices with stakeholders. Documentation: Create detailed conversation notes, design documentation, change management documents, and other technical artifacts as requested. Technical Advisory: Provide technical advice and guidance to management and clients regarding trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud security and governance. Stakeholder Engagement: Actively participate in discussions, meetings, and working groups with CJCR and Department of National Defence (DND) stakeholders to align on objectives and solutions. Mandatory Experience and Qualifications: Cloud Security & Governance: Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting and implementing cloud security and governance solutions in Microsoft Azure. Experience working with large-scale Canadian Federal Government departments (50k+ users), geographically dispersed across multiple regions. Azure Cloud Technologies: Minimum of 3 years of experience within the last 5 years designing and implementing cloud solutions, including: Azure Firewall Virtual Networks, Subnets, and User Defined Routing (UDR) Network Security Groups (NSGs) Application Gateways and Web Application Firewall (WAF) Azure Keyvaults, Private Endpoints Centralized Logging Solutions, Alerting, and Monitoring Azure Security Projects: Experience in at least 2 projects in the last 4 years related to securing Azure environments, including: Implementing Defender for Cloud Implementing Azure Sentinel Creating custom Azure Policies Each project must have been 6 months or longer. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): At least 5 years of experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages, including PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM templates, within the last 8 years. Azure DevOps & Agile: Minimum of 5 years of experience within the last 8 years working with Azure DevOps Services as part of an Agile development team. Azure Certifications: Hold 3 out of the following 4 certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert DevOps Engineer Expert Azure Administrator Associate Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert Ideal Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in Azure cloud security, governance, and DevSecOps. They will have demonstrated experience in large-scale federal government environments, with a proven ability to deliver secure and scalable cloud solutions. Their proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, coupled with strong knowledge of Azure security tools and practices, makes them a valuable asset for supporting the migration and optimization of cloud resources. In addition, their certifications reflect their depth of expertise in Microsoft Azure technologies and security architecture.
