Who We Need
Sabel Systems has the technology solutions to support cloud-based processes for Digital Engineering, enabling Digital Threads for, and Digital Twins of, complex weapon systems. Our DoD customers have urgent and persistent needs to address new capabilities of near-peer strategic competitors, and asymmetric threats from disruptive actors. Overview: As a DevSecOps Consultant, you will play a critical role in researching, communicating, and organizing DevSecOps solutions. You will work closely with development teams, security teams, and clients to automate, streamline, and optimize processes across the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This role requires the ability to communicate complex technical topics (about DevSecOps, Software Development, and Software Assurance) to clients to create secure, agile, and efficient systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Consulting and Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their business needs and provide tailored DevSecOps strategies.
Advise and guide teams on best practices for secure coding, secure infrastructure, and continuous security monitoring.
Provide ongoing support and training to development teams on security practices and DevSecOps tools.
Review and advise on source code, identifying potential security risks and recommending corrective actions.
Requirement Gathering and Analysis:
Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements.
Conduct workshops, interviews, and brainstorming sessions to gather user stories and acceptance criteria.
Analyze and validate requirements to ensure they align with business goals and can be feasibly implemented within the agile framework.
Facilitation of Agile Processes:
Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements.
Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in digital engineering and agile methodologies.
Propose innovative solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and delivery of digital products and services.
DevOps and Security Integration:
Collaborate with development and security teams to implement and automate security controls in the CI/CD pipeline.
Integrate security tools and practices into the DevOps workflows to improve application security and compliance.
Conduct threat modeling, security assessments, and vulnerability management in both development and production environments.
Documentation and Communication:
Create clear and concise documentation for DevSecOps processes, policies, user stories, and system diagrams.
Communicate security risks, incidents, and mitigation strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to gather feedback, resolve issues, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and present reports on security metrics and continuous improvements

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients, manage stakeholder relationships, and deliver clear, actionable guidance.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to integrate security with DevOps processes to drive efficiency and mitigate risks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to organize and collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements.
Proven experience in DevOps, security, or programming, with a focus on automated testing practices across the SDLC.
Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, GitLab, and security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Anchore) is a plus.
Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Products is a plus.
Continuous learning mindset and the ability to stay updated with the latest security trends and DevSecOps best practices

Salary and Benefits
The range for this position is between $70,000 and $100,000. Actual salary will be negotiated with this position’s Hiring Manager and can vary depending on the following factors: Billable contract and labor category, experience, skills, education /certifications/ licenses & geographic location.
