Ionic Engineering, operating as Ionic Mechatronics, is looking for a self-motivated, high-caliber and creative Experienced Control Systems Programmer to join our multi-disciplinary design and service team.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of related industrial control systems design and automation programming experience.
Specific experience in one or more of the following is required:
Design and programming for common industrial PLC platforms (Rockwell / Schneider / Siemens, DCS etc.)
Design using AutoCAD Electrical, Microstation, AutoCAD etc.
Programming or Design of automated and robotic systems
Underground Mobile Equipment Design or Programming
Programming or Design of machinery in mining or other heavy industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a requirement
Must be able to work independently on a complete design package or in a team environment
Experience and Skills that are asset to this position:
Machine Safety standards familiarity
Electrical power distribution design experience would be an asset
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be an asset
Startup and commissioning experience is a requirement
Post-installation troubleshooting and customer support is an integral part of this position
Professional designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or a P.Eng. in other Canadian provinces is an asset
Ability to occasionally travel locally and abroad
Key Functions:
Develop detailed programs and concepts of automation and control systems
Review, check and develop detailed drawing packages for various design concepts using CAD systems
Develop, review and verify automation programs (PLC, HMI, Robotics)
Assist on machine wiring and control systems verification
Conduct technical studies, equipment and systems performance audits and generate reports
Write technical documents and reports for various stages on mining and industrial projects
Test and commission systems at factory and customer facilities
Lead project technical design teams
Manage projects and customer communications as required
Notes: Preferences will be given to candidates that reside in the Greater Sudbury area or nearby communities (willingness to relocate to Sudbury for those applying from other Canadian cities would be considered).
