Seeking a Front-End UI Developer with experience in implementing and developing user interfaces for web applications. The role involves collaborating on the development of a Design System to be deployed across multiple products and building a CSS and UX code library for web applications.
Duties & Responsibilities
Analyze, design, develop, apply, and support complex enterprise projects.
Evaluate customer requirements and provide effective solutions.
Interface with various departments, consult with stakeholders, and resolve system-related issues for current and future enhancements to WMATA’s systems.
Participate in problem resolution related to system design and review.
Recommend approval of functional and technical design documents and oversee the implementation of system updates and enhancements.
Analyze and evaluate system changes to determine feasibility, alternative solutions, and backup procedures.
Contribute to the development of new systems, upgrades, and enhancements while ensuring compliance with approved standards.
Selection CriteriaEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related IT discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Proficiency in user interface development for web applications.
Strong front-end development experience, including:
Angular, React, or Vue
HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bootstrap, JSON, YAML
Figma for UI/UX design collaboration
Extensive experience developing CSS, from design through implementation.
Experience developing a Design System and consolidating disparate user-facing applications into a cohesive UI component library.
Strong knowledge of multi-tiered applications, including:
Web services, APIs, clustered environments, database servers, application servers, report servers.
Familiarity with software development methodologies and project management tools.
Experience working in an Agile development environment, including JIRA, Confluence, and GIT.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field.
