Who are we?
We make media independent. Our platform helps independent media makers build sustainable membership businesses. This includes creating and improving interfaces for members, subscribers, and readers to explore and consume various media content through the browser and email, working on internal tooling UIs, and occasionally assisting with marketing pages and other promotional materials. businesses by offering everything they need under one roof—publishing, marketing, payments, billing, and more. Instead of juggling separate tools, our customers get one streamlined solution that’s powerful, affordable, and easy to use.
Currently, over 250,000 people support thousands of independent media projects through our platform. We aim to help those projects grow further—and bring even more independent media makers and members on board.
We value openness, equality, and inclusion. Whether you work from home or join us in our Berlin office, we trust you to manage your responsibilities and appreciate flexible, collaborative working styles.
How do we work?
We organize ourselves without rigid hierarchies, using clearly defined roles instead. Everyone knows their responsibilities and can make decisions quickly. We follow the "consent principle," meaning: "If it’s safe enough to try, we’ll give it a go."
No weird cultish vibes—just a pragmatic, supportive environment that values teamwork, personal responsibility, and efficient decision-making.
What will you do?
As our Frontend Developer, you’ll build and improve features that help independent media makers manage their memberships. This includes building and improving interfaces for members, subscribers, and readers to explore and consume various media content through the browser and email, working on internal tooling UIs, and occasionally assisting with marketing pages and other promotional materials. Additionally, you’ll work on our JavaScript-based layers that our customers embed on their websites, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
Beyond JavaScript, you’ll handle general frontend tasks like CSS and responsive design to ensure a polished user experience. Additionally, you’ll contribute to improving and maintaining our editor, which is based on Tiptap.
You’ll be part of a six-person product team with experienced Full-Stack Elixir developers and product managers. We primarily use vanilla JavaScript for most tasks, with some React used in the editor and smaller components. You’ll need to be comfortable making changes in a SSR web application backend codebase, and we’ll be happy to help you get started with Elixir.
Your day-to-day might include:
