The purpose of this role is to support the continued growth and optimization by delivering high-quality development work, ensuring scalable and secure digital workflows, and enhancing user experiences for both permit submitters and reviewers. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Rails and React to support core workflows in the client's platform Design, implement, and optimize APIs for integrating third-party services and internal systems, ensuring performance and security standards. Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create accessible, user-friendly interfaces that align with BC Government design guidelines. Perform code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and ensure adherence to best practices in Rails and React development. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, providing ongoing support to maintain system stability and performance. Participate in pair programming sessions with other developers and contribute to the development of complex features that require in-depth technical expertise. Ensure secure authentication and authorization by working with tools such as Keycloak, SiteMinder, and Devise (RBAC). Write and maintain unit and integration tests using RSpec and Cypress to ensure code reliability and coverage. Collaborate with DevOps to support containerized deployments using Docker and OpenShift and improve CI/CD workflows. Contribute to architectural discussions, providing input on technical decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
