Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Fund Development Coordinator with experience in the international development context to join our Canada-based team in a flexible role with potential to grow further with the organization. Right to Learn Afghanistan has a well-diversified funding portfolio that will be maintained and expanded upon by the incumbent. Reporting to the Fund Development Manager and working with our staff team in Canada and Afghanistan, the Fund Development Coordinator will assist with identifying funding opportunities, preparing proposals and reporting to donors, and contribute to fulfilling the overall fund development strategy of the organization. We are seeking exceptional candidates, with experience writing international grant proposals, concept papers, and LOIs, ready to bring their creativity and energy to our dynamic team. Job Duties: ● Expand donors base by conducting prospective donor research and identifying new funding opportunities; ● Assist the proposal writing team to develop high quality, timely proposals; ● Identify and research potential grant opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and international organizations; ● Write compelling and persuasive grant proposals tailored to the specific requirements of each funding opportunity; ● Manage and maintain donor databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information; ● Clearly articulate the organization's mission, goals, and the impact of its programs; ● Work closely with program managers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather information and insights necessary for proposal development and reporting; ● Ensure that grant proposals and subsequent projects comply with the regulations and guidelines set forth by funding agencies and organizations; ● Work closely with finance and program teams to track expenditures and impact for reporting purposes; ● Assist in the management of existing grants, ensuring that reporting requirements are met, and deadlines are adhered to; ● Stay informed about trends, priorities, and funding landscapes in different countries and regions; ● Support cross-functional projects as needed to maximize the organization’s fundraising potential. Qualifications: ● Minimum eight years of relevant work experience, with at least half in international programming/projects ● Track record of developing winning proposals ● Exceptional writing skills and experience with a variety of formats (LOIs, concept papers, proposals, cases for support, donor reports) ● Exceptional communication skills ● Deadline-oriented, with demonstrated ability to take responsibility for proposals and complete them in a timely manner ● Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills, and ability make a compelling case for support of the organization’s international programs ● Ability to work independently, take initiative, and coordinate a variety of activities concurrently ● Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred: ● Technical expertise in the education sector and knowledge of current issues in education in developing countries ● Experience working with a multinational team both in person and remotely ● Experience working on shared drives such as Google Drive To Apply: Applicants living anywhere in the world are invited to apply to this home-based position.
