Job Summary Knight Vision Interactive is seeking a multi-talented leader to take on the Game Director, Producer, and Narrative Designer role for our upcoming portfolio of AAA-caliber games. This is a contract position for a highly experienced industry professional who can guide the game’s vision, oversee production schedules, and craft compelling narratives. As a Game Director, you will define the game’s vision and ensure alignment across departments. As a Producer, you will manage workflows, timelines, and budgets. As a Narrative Designer, you will shape the game’s story, characters, and lore, integrating them into gameplay meaningfully. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for a visionary creative with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of game development. Key ResponsibilitiesGame Direction (40%) Define and uphold the creative vision, tone, and gameplay experience. Collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers to ensure cohesion across all elements. Oversee game mechanics, world-building, and player engagement strategies. Advocate for player experience, pacing, and storytelling integration. Production & Project Management (40%) Create and maintain project roadmaps, production schedules, and milestones. Lead and coordinate teams across disciplines to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Work with the team to balance creative goals with budget and timeline constraints. Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, risks, and challenges. Ensure clear communication and workflow efficiency across all departments. Narrative Design (20%) Develop and oversee the game’s story, characters, dialogue, and world-building. Collaborate with game designers to integrate narrative into gameplay seamlessly. Write and edit scripts, lore, and in-game text, ensuring consistency and impact. Define narrative structures, branching paths, and player-driven storytelling experiences. Work with voice actors and sound designers to bring characters to life. Qualifications & Skills ✅ 8+ years of experience in game direction, production, or narrative design in the gaming industry. ✅ Shipped at least one mid-to-large-scale game in a leadership role. ✅ Deep understanding of game design principles, production workflows, and narrative structure. ✅ Strong experience with game engines (Unreal Engine 5, Unity, or proprietary engines). ✅ Proficiency in project management tools (Jira, Asana, or equivalent). ✅ Exceptional writing skills and experience in story-driven game development. ✅ Experience managing cross-functional teams (designers, programmers, artists, and writers). ✅ Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. ✅ Ability to balance creative ambition with production feasibility.
