Job Summary & Purpose The Head of Business Change, Transformation & Planning at Psychiatry UK will play a crucial role in helping the organisation to plan & prioritise effectively, identify and lead the transformation programme needed for the business to scale, and support the change needed to embed and deliver this organisational evolution. The role will be a part of the Operations & Commercial team reporting to the Chief Commercial & Operating Officer. and will collaborate closely with Tech Dev, Data, Product (Pathway) and Clinical teams – as well as more widely across the organisation including the Executive leadership team. They will lead a small team (currently two Change implementation Managers and two Transformation Delivery Managers). Responsibilities & Duties Manage a small & nimble Transformation & Change Office, providing a ‘shared service’ of project management and light governance by sharing knowledge and best practice, ensuring processes, documents and tools are embedded in ways of working across the business (without being overly onerous). Help set the overall strategic direction and operational priorities by leading and orchestrating the planning process. This will include supporting senior leaders to set organisational goals as well as Team leads to define the plan and then orchestrating to ensure a clear and cohesive set of initiatives that delivers against strategic, patient / clinician and commercial outcomes. Lead, in collaboration with Tech Dev and other teams, the implementation of Agile process and methodology including the principle of continuous improvement. The approach to embedding will need to be pragmatic and incremental. Over time, develop operational and specialist insight to drive continuous improvement Act as the organisation ‘role model’ and champion for setting clear Outcomes and OKRs that are the cornerstone for planning activity. This includes coaching and upskilling the wider organisation in identifying and articulating suitable Outcomes & OKRs, and ongoing tracking of leading indicators to demonstrate progress. Support the organisation on creating and embedding reporting mechanisms to track progress against Outcomes and OKRs, and orchestrate to ensure Drive business-wide initiatives for process improvement, simplification and automation, constantly highlighting and managing initiatives that would enable the organisation to scale effectively. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and work with them to gain consensus on priorities, plans, key decisions and actions, and then collaborate to ensure blockers are overcome, decisions are made and delivery achieved. Ensure that planning and execution is embodied by a sense of urgency and accountability, and that these and other characteristics become cultural habits as opposed to rules. Maintain and enhance project process documentation, mapping and controls. Provide leadership and mentoring for Change, Transformation & Planning team to ensure each team member has annual objectives and a plan for individual capability development, coupled with regular formal and informal feedback to ensure the team’s capability is constantly building Capability Requirements & Experience Exceptional knowledge of Change, Transformation & Planning as disciplines, but with the proven ability to balance best practice with pragmatism to ensure the business continues to evolve and grow at pace. Proven experience in embedding transformation within and across teams – particularly in a scale-up environment through orchestration, facilitation, coaching and challenge Proven capability in project management, process design and agile delivery management, but with the emphasis on continuous improvement / pragmatism rather than perfection as a starting point. Will have a naturally inclusive style and approach and will work collaboratively with and through others to get results. Excellent stakeholder management skills as well as strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate with and bridge the gap between technical, operational and business teams Delivery focused, strategic and forward looking with ability to identify and resolve operational delivery risks. Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong drive for continuous learning and professional development.
