Head of Software Engineering- Hybrid/London- up to £160k + 20% bonus

Are you ready to lead, innovate, and shape the future of the sports betting industry?

Our client is looking for a Head of Product Engineering to oversee and manage a portfolio of products at the heart of Betting Platform. You will be a key member of our leadership team, you'll guide multiple Product Development teams (around 40 people spread across 6 teams and 6 Software Engineering Managers) collaborating across offices in the UK, Spain, and Sweden, and ensure our platform remains a leader in the industry.

What you will be doing:

• Develop and execute a product portfolio strategy that aligns with business objectives.
• Lead and mentor Product Managers, Software Engineering Managers, and Architects to deliver on ambitious goals.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Drive product strategy, innovation, and alignment with market trends and customer needs.
• Establish and monitor key performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Manage resources effectively, balancing budgets, personnel, and project risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration across development, marketing, and business units.
• Maintain accountability for the security and quality of released software.
• Act as a thought leader in the gaming industry, staying ahead of trends and technological advancements

What We're Looking For:

• 10+ years commercial experience
• someone that has come from a development background preferably with GO but can consider anyone with OOP language
• Architecture design experience
• Proven track record of managing large, diverse teams in fast-paced environments.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Working with teams that build software that scale quickly with no downtime
• A deep understanding of scalable systems and application development.
• Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with experience coaching high-performing teams.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with an ability to translate business objectives into actionable plans.
• A proactive, curious mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi-team environments and resolve challenges effectively.
• Experience in the gaming or sports betting or adjacent domains (high transactional and fast paced, like Fintech)
