Job DescriptionJob Description Early Career Program - iOS Engineer Position: iOS Engineer (Early Career Program) Department: Technology and Product Development Location: Remote (with occasional on-site collaboration in Los Angeles, CA) Commitment: Part-Time (12-15 hours per week) Duration: 3 months (College credit available upon completion) About LA Pet Apparel LA Pet Apparel is a lifestyle brand focused on enhancing pet wellness and celebrating the unique bond between pets and their humans. We are developing a canine wellness app that leverages interactive features and technology to improve dog care for pet owners. Role Overview As an iOS Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design and development of our iOS app. You’ll gain hands-on experience building engaging, user-friendly features and work on integrating key functionality such as activity tracking and notifications for canine wellness. Responsibilities Develop the iOS version of the canine wellness app using Swift. Implement core features like user profiles, activity tracking, and wellness reminders. Collaborate on UI/UX design to ensure a seamless and engaging app experience. Integrate Apple HealthKit for fitness tracking and notifications. Conduct testing to ensure app stability and functionality across devices. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a college/university program focused on Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (college credit available). Experience with Swift and iOS development tools (Xcode, SwiftUI, UIKit). Understanding of RESTful APIs and app-to-server communication. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Passion for pets and creating impactful technology! Preferred Skills Familiarity with SwiftUI for creating responsive and modern UI designs. Knowledge of Firebase or other back-end services for authentication and data management. Experience working with Apple HealthKit or related APIs.
