Innovative Project Flexible Hours Unpaid Internship Opportunity: Junior AI Engineer (400 Hours in 3 months) in ABI at University of Auckland Location: Remote About the Project: We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior AI Engineer intern to join our cutting-edge Eye Tracking Project in Auckland bioengineering department at UoA. This project aims to optimize pupil tracking using AI techniques to detect eye health disorders. You will have the unique opportunity to contribute to innovative work that combines image and video analysis, machine learning, and object tracking algorithms, directly impacting healthcare and vision science. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development and optimization of machine learning models for pupil tracking and eye movement analysis. Implement object tracking algorithms for image and video analysis related to eye health. Collaborate with our research team to integrate AI solutions for real-time tracking and detection systems. Perform data labelling & preprocessing and work with large datasets to improve model accuracy and efficiency. Test and evaluate AI models to ensure the best performance in real-world applications. Requirements: Proficiency in Python programming (required). Understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms. Familiarity with image and video analysis, and object tracking techniques. Ability to work with large datasets and use libraries like OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Passion for AI technology, machine learning, and its applications in healthcare. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Excellent communication & writing skills and willingness to learn. Desirable (Not Required): Previous experience in AI or computer vision projects. Familiarity with eye-tracking technologies.
