The Role 

We're seeking a Lead Frontend Developer to join our dynamic team as the sole frontend specialist, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of our AI platform. You'll be responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing our front-end applications from the ground up, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience for our diverse clientele. As we grow, you'll have the opportunity to build and lead a front-end team.

Key Responsibilities 

• Independently develop and maintain our frontend applications using React and Next.js
• Collaborate with backend developers to integrate frontend with our GraphQL API (built in Rust)
• Implement and maintain authentication flows using KeyCloak for Open ID Connect
• Architect scalable frontend solutions that can accommodate future growth
• Optimize application performance and responsiveness
• Design and implement our low-code/no-code interface
• Establish frontend development standards, best practices, and documentation
• Stay updated with the latest frontend technologies and industry trends
• Plan for future team growth and be prepared to hire and lead a frontend team

Required Skills and Experience 

• 7+ years of professional experience in frontend development
• Expert-level proficiency in React and Next.js
• Strong understanding of GraphQL and experience consuming GraphQL APIs
• Familiarity with authentication protocols, particularly OpenID Connect
• Experience with state management solutions (e.g. IndexedDB, Redux, MobX, or Recoil)
• Solid grasp of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications 

• Previous experience in a startup environment
• Experience in working independently
• Experience building and leading development teams
• Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms (this would be a strong bonus)
• Experience in the AI or healthcare technology sector
• Experience with cloud deployment and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Language: Excellent communication skills in English are a must, German is a nice bonus.
