About this position Metaiss is an early-stage SaaS B2B company in the productivity and future-of-work space, based in the Greater NYC area. We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in launching and scaling our cloud-based SaaS product. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, design and develop robust software solutions, and manage infrastructure, leveraging Python, Flask, API design, databases, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. Responsibilities include: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering best practices in designing, developing, and implementing scalable, high-performing solutions. Provide support from the launching through scaling of our cloud based SaaS product. Drive the architecture, design, and development of core systems and infrastructure using Python, Flask, object databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and other modern front-end technologies. Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs, with a strong emphasis on SQL query optimization. Develop and oversee our cloud infrastructure on Azure or AWS, supporting both launch and scale phases of the SaaS product. Work closely with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, ensure project success, and deliver end-to-end solutions. Continuously evaluate new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and development quality. Take ownership of foundational development services to ensure reliability, scalability, and security. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5-8 years of professional software development experience, with proven experience as a Lead Software Engineer or similar leadership role. Advanced proficiency in Python, Flask, API design, MySQL, PostgreSQL, object databases, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS). Experience with distributed systems and/or infrastructure. Familiarity with launching and scaling cloud-based enterprise SaaS using distributed infrastructure. Strong understanding of development best practices, design patterns, and architectural principles. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with effective communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Working experience with web application and startups. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team. Working knowledge of mobile app development, including Swift and SwiftUI.
