POSITION:
Learning Developer (Fixed-Term Contract)
DEPARTMENT: Employment, Language, and Social Enterprise
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be familiar with MOSAIC'S vision, mission, values, strategic plan, and integrated client service delivery approach, program and/or project proposals and contracts, and your role in achieving the goals and contractual outcomes of the department
Incorporate MOSAIC's principles and values into online learning component; apply experience-based knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning, and reflect best practices in current online course components
Support the development of both online and integrated courses/programs for MOSAIC English Language Programs
Initiate and engage in technical trouble shooting and resolution within the Moodle platform
Work with teachers to develop online flexible learning components that are learner-centered and interactive
Assist the Lead Learning Developer in providing expert advice and training for staff regarding teaching strategies, learning activities, assessment mechanisms, and the integration of appropriate learning technologies
Assist the Lead Learning Developer in evaluating online instructional delivery
Interact with LINC Instructors online, provide expert advice and guidance
Participate in Team meetings, Professional Development and site-specific staff meetings, all-staff, and relevant community meetings, in-service training, and other training
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge
Knowledge of Canadian Language Benchmarks, language acquisition, Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA), online teaching and learning, instructional technologies, course design, summative and formative evaluation, immigrant settlement issues, and Microsoft Office Suite, Moodle and standard office software and equipment.
Education/Certifications
University undergraduate degree
Recognized TESL Canada Certificate, equivalent in teaching ESL.
Postsecondary certificate, degree or equivalent in distributed learning.

COMPENSATION: $31.26 - $34.56 per hour
HOURS: part-time, 17.5 hours per week
Fixed-term position until March 31, 2025
The successful candidate may be permitted to work in a hybrid work model (a combination of in-office and ability to work from home). The successful candidate must be able to commute to our Boundary office location at 5575 Boundary Road, Vancouver.
BENEFITS: A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
