Through an innovative combination of software, hardware, and product vision, we are changing how the world views digital merchandising, communications and Out Of Home (DOOH). We are seeking a Linux and Android Framework developer to join our development team! We’re re-building and we’re looking for people to join the Videri team. The Developer is responsible for porting Linux and building a custom Android AOSP on various hardware platforms. They will work closely with the Systems team to implement a secured AOSP environment, provisioning and implement new features. This role reports to the SVP of Hardware. This exciting opportunity is a full-time position based out of the Montreal or Waterloo offices and will support remote work. What you will do: Developing a secure, customized AOSP based on source code from suppliers Influence the provisioning process to make it easy and user friendly Implement robust serialization and manufacturing data collection Realize product feature designs in cooperation with electrical, software, operations, and marketing Update custom AOSP with security patches and new versions of Android Work with Android App dev team to make a more user friendly experience Create prototypes and improvements to test out new features Create and update workplans, schedules and reports regularly. Communicate transparently on progress and obstacles and propose solutions Build strong collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders What you have: BA or MA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience 7-10+ years of professional experience Proficiency in Android Studio, Linux, C, C++, C#, JAVA, Kotlin, Flutter Ability to quickly move from concept to ideation or iterate multiple concepts Strong visualization skills with a keen awareness of usability issues by end user. Experience in guiding design through concept to full production Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external resources to drive successful outcomes for innovation projects, platforms, and initiatives Self-starter, creative problem solver and solution-focused thinker Ability to think conceptually and drive design concepts Excellent communication skills Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel) Must hold a valid passport and/or visa for travel to the USA This opportunity requires a satisfactory review of prior project portfolio.
