Job Summary:
Fleet Canada Inc. is seeking a talented CNC Machinist & Programmer with a focus on programming, setup coordination, and machine tool optimization. The role involves working collaboratively with our on-site team to ensure precise machining and streamlined operations.
About the role:
Receive and review tooling requirements for machines.
Program CNC lathes and machining centers using Mastercam or equivalent software.
Develop and optimize programs for 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines.
Provide detailed instructions and documentation to on-site operators for machine setup and tool/offset/material placement.
Verify blueprints/specifications to ensure proper dimensions and layout of parts.
Support tool-proving operations by analyzing machine behavior through monitoring systems.
Coordinate with the on-site team to ensure shop aids and fixtures meet quality standards.
Calculate feeds, speeds, and angles (including trigonometric calculations) for machining tasks and communicate adjustments.
Monitor production schedules and provide remote support to ensure efficient workflow and timely movement of parts through production stages.
Participate in virtual meetings to organize work priorities and solve operational challenges.
Perform quality checks on CNC programs to ensure precision and minimize errors.
Maintain communication with the team to address any unforeseen challenges .
Additional duties as required by the company.
Qualifications:
Equivalent 4 years high school
Experienced with Mastercam, manual machines, 3 axis, 5 axis and tool design an asset
plus
On-the-job training in related or similar field for 5 years
