Job Description: As a Manager of Software Engineering on the Patient Registration team, you will gain a deep understanding of the healthcare industry while working in a distributed team of talented software engineers. You will learn about our users, customers and architecture while designing, building, scaling, and maintaining complex distributed software products. The ideal candidate will coordinate with the Phreesia Product Management team, architects, and engineers to design, build, and maintain innovative products that drive patient activation and improved healthcare outcomes. The results of your work will improve and streamline the patient healthcare experience and healthcare providers’ ability to efficiently service and interact with their patients. This is a fully remote position with priority given to candidates in the EST/CST time zones. What You'll Do: Implementing required functionality as part of a development team Help hire and manage software engineers Writing technical documentation Participating in design reviews Participate in Sprint planning and execution Help manage escalations and ongoing product maintenance Maintain software security and quality standards Help development and quality assurance team members Take ownership of existing products, including bug fixes Aid in troubleshooting and resolving production escalations and issues Help review team commits via pull requests Support your products over their lifetime Assisting with other SDLC and Sprint related activities, e.g. periodically facilitating stand up meetings What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline 8+ years of experience building and supporting highly distributed applications, with significant experience with Microsoft.NET in C# or Java systems connecting to databases (SQL Server, MongoDB, NoSQL) and cloud systems 3+ years of experience in people management within software engineering and a focus on growing talented employees 3+ years of experience in project management delivering successful releases Experience managing contractors and vendors required Experience authenticating and calling web services Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines Self-motivated, pragmatic thinker capable of working within a highly distributed team Strong technical and non-technical communication skills Technologies We Use: Microsoft.NET in C# SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis Cloud systems (Amazon Web Services, Azure) Restful APIs RabbitMQ, MSMQ NServiceBus Who We Are: At Phreesia, we’re looking for smart and passionate people to help drive our mission of creating a better, more engaging healthcare experience.
