Position Overview: Alkami is hiring a Manager, Software Engineering who is a cross functional and autonomous position involved in coordinating tasks between various teams and departments (Engineering, QA, SRE, Release Management, Product, Architecture, Scrum Master) to ensure the high quality delivery of software. This person has a technical aptitude, a background in software development, strong problem solving skills, and functions as the “grease” to keep a complex system with a host of moving parts operating smoothly. The Manager coaches and mentors software engineers to achieve personal and professional growth. They cultivate a collaborative, engaging, fast paced and result oriented environment. This person is hands-on and engaged with their teams and responsible for the evaluation of individual and team performance metrics to maximize team efficiency. They can drive technical discussion/triage/research and help determine root cause analysis. Key Responsibilities & Duties: Working with Product Engineering teams to deliver functional requirements and ensure features are built to specifications Manage direct reports to build a high performance team with high velocity while maintaining a high bar for quality Have regular one-on-ones with direct reports Responsible for coordinating efforts on important tasks with a sense of urgency Working with Product Management to collaborate through creative brainstorming sessions and assist in writing requirements for technical debt Reporting accomplishments, goals, issues and deliverable statuses to Director, Product Engineering and other team members Establishment of performance goals for all direct reports Hire, coach, and mentor individuals; build a strong cross-functional group Expects and requires innovation of her/his team Has passion and convictions and the innate ability to inspire passion in others Continuing education with regards to management philosophies, knowledge of the banking industry, as well as applications that will be specific to segments of our client base Other assigned duties Qualifications: Strong background in several of the following (or equivalent): .NET, C#, MVC, SAAS, SOA, MS SQL Server, Javascript, Entity Framework, microservices, AWS/Azure Experience in building scalable systems that are operationally efficient Demonstrated improved growth and leadership of successful teams over time Successful in managing multiple concurrent work streams Desired Skills: Previous experience managing and mentoring a .NET team within an agile/scrum environment Cool Things to Know Not Just Any Company: Alkami has an awesome diverse and inclusive environment.
