Working as part of the software team you will develop software for the robotic system but also act as the in-house liaison for remote aspects of the Software and Electrical team supporting hands-on testing and debugging of our one of a kind underwater autonomous vehicles. You will be the primary person responsible for the operation of our prototype vehicle. Responsibilities and Duties: Develop and implement robotics algorithms and develop hardware interface drivers using ROS, Python and C++. Analyze vehicle logs and performance to develop system enhancements. Operate the vehicle in the lab, at our in-harbour test facility and during offshore deployments. Support building and retrofitting of robotic underwater vehicles. Required Skills and Experience: Experience developing software for robotic or other hardware based systems. Hands on experience building, operating and debugging mechatronic systems. Understanding of design tradeoffs with mechanical, electrical and software solutions. Demonstrated experience with collaborative team development. Alignment with the company core values. The ability to thrive in both team and autonomous environments. Experience in working with cross functional teams. Desirable Additional Experience: Experience developing underwater technology and autonomous underwater vehicles in particular. Past experience working in a small, high-growth technology company. Past experience with the listed responsibilities and duties.
