What you'll do
The Cloud, Data, Network Engineering Team (CDNET) team is instrumental in driving cloud transformation within our enterprise. We are responsible for managing public cloud platforms on Azure and GCP, as well as the full developer toolchain including Ansible, Terraform, Jira, GitHub, Azure DevOps and more. Our goal is to continuously enhance our platforms by updating services and partnering with solution partners across Canadian Tire to deliver value through cloud enablement and automation.
As a Platform DevOps Engineer, you will play a hands-on, technical role within the CDNET team. Working in an agile environment, you will leverage your expertise in cloud and DevOps to manage systems, automate infrastructure, and translate our platform services roadmap into pipelines and code. Collaborating closely with architects, security engineers, operations support, and project leads, you will contribute to building enterprise-grade solutions.
Deliver high-quality work using an agile delivery model within a team environment
Deploy cloud infrastructure and services on Azure
Write Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Administer and automate Linux and Windows systems using GO, PowerShell, and Python
Utilize automation to ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards
Create and maintain technical documentation
Support development programs aimed at building cloud-native applications
Contribute to the development of cloud strategies and target reference architectures
Mentor and coach others in cloud and DevOps tools and practices
Communicate timelines, dependencies, constraints, and progress effectively
What you bring
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in development, operations, or full-stack implementations
Expertise in Azure is critical, Google Cloud Platform experience is desired
Proven experience in developing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform
Extensive knowledge of Linux server administration
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including VNETs, subnetting, NSGs, routing, firewalls, and DNS
Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, Terraform, ADO, etc.
Ability to interpret and apply security best practices to create secure infrastructure and applications
Familiarity with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
Experience working in a highly secure or heavily regulated environment
Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies
Proficiency in collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, JIRA, and Confluence
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and solutioning skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to change and ambiguity in a dynamic environment
Action-oriented mindset with a willingness to take calculated risks for customer-centric improvements
Outcome-focused critical thinker capable of analyzing data to drive continuous improvement
