We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python, Pytest, API testing, Playwright or Selenium, and experience with video streaming and encoding. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated tests for Epiphan Pearl devices, as well as identifying and reporting software defects to ensure the highest quality of our products.
Note: This position is based in Ottawa, ON, with a hybrid work format available. Employees are expected to work from the office 2 (two) days a week.

Key responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute component and End-to-end tests using Python and Pytest for Epiphan Pearl firmware validation
Develop UI End-to-end tests using Python and Playwright for Epiphan Cloud solutions
Develop and maintain automation testing tools for QA Department
Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure testability and adherence to code quality practices
Identify, report, and track software defects in Epiphan Pearl products
Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and improve software quality
Conduct performance and load testing for video streaming and encoding software
Develop and maintain test documentation
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of proven experience in QA automation
Proficiency in Python, Pytest, Playwright, and Selenium
Strong Bash knowledge
Experience with building component and End-to-end API tests
Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
Experience with CI/CD systems
Strong Linux experience
Familiarity with code quality practices and patterns
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to have:
Experience with FFmpeg
Basic C++ programming skills
Jenkins pipelines development with Groovy
Video encoding and decoding techniques knowledge
Reporting frameworks experience such as ReportPortal or Allure
Embedded systems firmware testing experience
