YOUR ASSIGNMENT (should you choose us and we choose you!)
As a QA Automation Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving quality across Dispatch’s software solutions. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to build, execute, and scale automated testing processes, ensuring our products meet functional and non-functional requirements with precision and excellence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Define and Mature QA Processes: Help define and mature QA processes, including manual and automated testing strategies, to maintain superior quality and hold the team accountable to best practices and standards.
Implement Best Practices: Advocate for and implement development and testing best practices to improve software quality, reliability, and performance.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with product management, engineering, and other teams during planning and design stages (shift-left testing) to establish solid requirements, acceptance criteria, and promote a quality-first mindset throughout the development lifecycle.
Test Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans covering functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., usability, scalability/load, security), execute tests, log findings in bug-tracking systems, and collaborate with teams to resolve and verify fixes.
Automated Testing: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to optimize regression testing and continuously enhance test automation and CI/CT practices.
Quality Advocacy: Advocate for quality early in the product development process by proactively identifying gaps, providing feedback, and driving improvements to Dispatch’s product solutions and tools.
Stay Current in Industry Trends: Stay updated with emerging trends in QA and test automation through conferences, workshops, professional networking, and continuous learning.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM & DISPATCH
2+ years as a QA Engineer with a solid understanding of QA methodologies, test cycles, and software releases.
Proficiency in object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Python) and automated testing tools like Selenium, Appium, or JMeter.
Experience testing mobile applications and working in CI/CD pipelines using Git.
Ability to identify gaps in testing processes, design solutions, and advocate for quality improvements.
Proven ability to partner across teams and influence the product development lifecycle to prioritize quality.
Experience with Ruby on Rails, behavior-driven development (BDD) tools like Cucumber, and cloud-based performance testing.
Adaptability to startup environments where agility and flexibility are key.
