Job Description: Database Developer/Programmer Analyst 3

Location: Remote within TX

Duration: Contract

Note: Need Database Developer or Architect, NOT Data Engineer.

Need someone with State/Federal client experience and Must reside in TX only.

Position Overview: We are seeking two experienced Developer/Programmer Analyst 3 candidates for a senior-level role involving the support, improvement, and enhancement of databases and reports for a large-scale project. The role demands advanced SQL, PL/SQL, and Stored Procedures expertise, along with significant experience in integrating databases with Java applications. The successful candidates will play a critical role in solving complex problems, providing thought leadership, managing project scope, and delivering updates on project status. The position requires a high level of skill in data aggregation and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and enhance databases and reports for a large project.
  • Develop and maintain SQL, PL/SQL, and Stored Procedures.
  • Integrate databases with Java applications.
  • Provide thought leadership and devise solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage project scope and deliver progress updates.
  • Ensure accuracy and effectiveness of reports.
  • Participate in Agile development processes.
  • Perform unit testing and development-related documentation.
  • Address and resolve bugs related to core and project-specific features.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing, coding, and supporting Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in integrating databases with Java applications.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in unit testing.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in Agile development environments.

Work Hours and Location:

  • Normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (excluding State holidays).
  • The position is remote and may be performed from within the United States.
  • Travel, per diem, parking, and living expenses will be at the candidate's or vendor's expense unless pre-approved in writing.
  • Occasional work outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required. Pre-approval is required for work over 40 hours per week.

  • Candidates will need to undergo a criminal background check as per Texas law.
  • All work products resulting from the project will be the property of the contracting agency and are considered "works made for hire."
