About the Role: Aquila is seeking a SeniorSoftware Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the countrys premier defense research organizations.The Senior Software/Application Engineer role provides an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge data virtualization and data integration projects, enabling businesses to make data-driven decisions efficiently and effectively. They may be asked to take up to 4 trips per calendar year to Lexington if the program/project requires it. Responsibilities: Full lifecycle application development. Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages. Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis. Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD). Software modeling and simulation. Front end graphical user interface design. Software testing and quality assurance. Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation. Supports, maintains and documents software functionality. Integrates software with existing systems. Evaluates and identifies new technologies for implementation. Maintains standards compliance. Implements localization or globalization of software Responsibilities include but not limited to: Design, develop, and optimize data virtualization and integration solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, scripts, and views to integrate, transform, and analyze data from diverse sources. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver customized data solutions aligned with business needs. Implement robust security measures and access controls within data virtualization platforms to ensure data integrity and compliance. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks in data virtualization applications and workflows. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering best practices in data virtualization and integration. Seamlessly integrate data virtualization platforms with BI tools, ETL workflows, and cloud ecosystems to enable comprehensive analytics solutions. Create and maintain detailed documentation of processes, solutions, and workflows to support effective communication and knowledge transfer.
