Overview: Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking an SAS Programmer to provide support to our federal client located in Washington, D.C. The work can be performed remotely with occasional planned travel to the office. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain robust SAS programs to analyze large datasets, perform data transformations and generate reports Optimize existing SAS scripts to ensure future scalability and performance efficiency Implement advanced data processing techniques using SAS Data Step, PROC SQL, and SAS/MACROS to support various analytical models Build dynamically generated analysis and reporting tools using SAS Macros along with stored processes Perform data validation, reconciliation and cleansing using SAS to verify data integrity and conformity to business requirements Lead design and development of automated, reusable SAS macros and custom libraries for efficient data manipulation, transformation, statistical analysis, and reporting Transform and migrate legacy systems for integration with modernized system architecture Use subject matter expertise to prepare technical documentation and demonstrate proof of concept Conduct testing on SAS system outputs (unit, integration, end to end) to assess SAS code changes Strong background in SAS development and integration, data management, data analytics and reporting using Base SAS and SAS Enterprise Guide Design and conduct validity checks on data products with minimal oversight Familiarity with SAS git plugins to work in collaborative SAS environment with other developers and maintain version controls Work with interdisciplinary technology team to build survey processing systems Experience estimating task times and constructing reasonable schedules Qualifications: Qualifications: S. Citizenship is required BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology management, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field. 7+ years' experience in programming Statistical Analysis System (SAS). Base SAS Certification or comparable experience required. Position requires expertise with: Data step programming, PROC SQL, Macro processing, advanced SAS procedures Strong attention to detail and ability to construct and perform quality control checks. Good verbal/ written communication skills along with strong organizational skills The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Ability to understand and address complex problems and systems. Experience with both Agile and Waterfall SDLCs would be a plus. Linux, PL/SQL, and SAS BI tool experience a plus.
