Scope of the Project:
The Replacement Medicaid Management Information System (RMMIS) project is one of the largest IT projects for the State of South Carolina. It is a multi-year effort to replace the State’s aging MMIS and related applications with more modern capabilities along with corresponding business operations services.
Role Summary/Purpose
The Senior AWS DevOps Engineer – Consultant will support the Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) development and operations teams by designing and deploying secure AWS services in a timely manner. This position requires deep knowledge and experience with AWS tools, capabilities, and resources, with an understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure resources.
In this role, you will work with architects, developers, testers, business analysts, technical writers, and other team members with varying levels of technical expertise. It is essential that you possess excellent verbal and written communications skills. You must be able to work independently and proactively with little supervision, but you must also work well with others in a team environment.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage systems that are highly available, scalable, resilient, and secure on the AWS platform.
Design, implement, manage, and maintain DevOps tools to automate operational processes in AWS platform.
Lead and/or contribute to the development, maintenance, and usage of secure deployment infrastructure to meet HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot production issues and create root cause analysis report.
Work within an Agile team framework to collaborate with other DevOps team members to prioritize and assign work.
Coordinate with other development teams to provide support and manage technical expectations.
Collaborate with architects and developers to design effective and secure solutions.
Collaborate with team to design, implement, automate, maintain, and troubleshoot security controls, governance processes, and compliance support.
Qualifications:
This position requires extensive experience working with software development and deployment tools, and supporting the technical infrastructure for production operations. A thorough knowledge of AWS tools and services are required, along with excellent communications skills and the ability to work in an Agile team environment.

Preferred Skills
Deep knowledge on AWS core components (examples: IAM, WAF, API Gateway, ECS, EBS, Glue, EC2, S3, SNS, Lambda, Security groups, VPC, CFT, Route 53, certificate manager, AWS build pipelines and AWS cloud trail)
Experience with cloud security and compliance services
Ability to identify system vulnerabilities and provide solution designs
Knowledge of operating systems patching

Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
