Job Description Summary

• Acts as a liaison among business stakeholders and development teams. Works with Senior BAs to understand user stories and break them down into technical tasks to ensure development teams can build from them.
• Supports senior BA / Lead BA in agile ceremonies.

Job Description

• Responsible for the elicitation, analysis and documentation of business needs in order to formulate business requirements at the User Story level.
• Ensures User Stories meet the agreed Definition of Ready and that requirements traceability methods are maintained.
• Responsible for breaking down user stories to a detailed enough level that the development team can build from them, this may include SQL queries, pseudo-code, etc.
• Supports Senior / Lead BAs during Agile ceremonies and with management of requirements and backlogs.
• Builds a strong relationship with relevant stakeholders within the business and development teams.
• Provides information, as required, to the Solution Architecture team to ensure solution designs meet business requirements, including Non-Functional requirements.
• Raises risks, issues and dependencies to the Senior / Lead BA as they arise.
• Makes recommendations to business process improvements.

Additional Job Description

Knowledge & Skill:

• Extensive experienced of the Business Analysis role.
• Good knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (Agile / Scrum and Waterfall).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Must have experience working on Agile projects
• Engage proactively with Agile ceremonies and processes, including working with scrum teams and Product Owners.
• MS SQL skills (common table expressions, group by extensions, etc.)
• Experience with building/understanding data flow diagrams
• Familiarity with composing/understanding XML/XSD and JSON API documentation
• Be able to provide fully described stories (with acceptance criteria), EPICs and Wiki reference documentation.
• Evidence of an ability to combine technology systems / data analysis skills with an ability to reverse engineer application functionalities in absence of functional documentation.
• Strong knowledge of Jira / Confluence / Excel

Scope of Impact:

• Supports business analysis activities for individual workstreams within one or more projects.
