At Qu you will:
Lead the design, development, and optimization of cloud infrastructure to support IoT applications, with a focus on AWS IoT Core and managing time series data.
Architect and spearhead the implementation of enhancements to the data ingest pipeline, ensuring efficient processing and integration of telemetry and time series data.
Work closely with the hardware team to ensure successful integration of devices with cloud infrastructure using AWS IoT Core, including LoRaWAN, MQTT, device shadowing, and rules engine.
Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize backend systems to ensure reliability and scalability.
Write and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
Work closely with the engineering team to ensure smooth device-to-cloud communication, data storage, and processing, while ensuring cloud infrastructure aligns with business and technical needs.
Perform security reviews and audits, ensuring compliance with best practices for cloud security, identity management, and data encryption.
What we're looking for:
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on AWS services.
Proven experience designing and managing scalable cloud infrastructures, especially in environments handling IoT data, telemetry, and time series data.
Strong expertise in AWS IoT Core, Timestream/InfluxDB, and related services (Lambda, Kinesis, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, etc.).
Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other similar tools.
Strong understanding of security best practices, including IAM, VPC, and encryption.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS ECS).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize cloud performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable operations.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex cloud architectures in a clear and concise manner.
Experience with LoRaWAN or other IoT communication protocols, preferred.
Experience with AWS Greengrass, FreeRTOS, or other edge computing frameworks, preferred.
Understanding of over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates and device management, preferred.
