Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering design, with hands-on experience in various construction and fabrication techniques. This role requires creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring high-quality outcomes. The Senior Design Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards.

Duties:

• Lead the design and development of engineering projects from concept through to completion.
• Utilise CAD software to create detailed designs and technical drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.
• Conduct thorough analysis of designs for functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
• Oversee the fabrication process, ensuring that materials are used efficiently and effectively.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Conduct site visits to assess project progress and resolve any design-related issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies relevant to engineering design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Proven experience in a similar role within the engineering sector.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for fabrication tasks.
• Strong skills in carpentry, welding, electrical work, plumbing, painting, roofing, and masonry.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Familiarity with relevant software applications for design and project management.
