Senior Developer Position Summary: The Senior Developer uses skills as a seasoned and experienced member of the MedCost team. Leveraging industry practices, company policies and best practices, the Senior Developer is responsible for critical collaboration, design and development tasks necessary to securely implement application and data solutions. The individual in this position is accountable for cross-training, mentoring, application design, and application development in alignment with the MedCost Software Development Life Cycle (SDLS). The individual in this position will be an advocate for and champion of MedCost’s Change Control policies and procedures to ensure new and existing application changes are reviewed and approved before implementation. This position has a critical role in support of the Manager, Solutions Development and Support. Reinforcement of design, implementation, project and documentation standards are essential. Key responsibilities include designing and developing programmatic solutions in the appropriate application tier. This includes but is not limited to SQL database tables and procedures, windows form applications, web interfaces, and console applications. Ensuring applications are well documented for continued business growth is essential. Position Responsibilities: Collaboration with IT project managers and Business Units to draft business and technical requirements while reinforcing project standards. Coordination with Infrastructure and Development teams to design and program solutions, ensuring that these are aligned with supported technologies. Application evaluation, improvement and documentation. Planning and mentoring of other application developers. Administrative tasks specific to forms, spreadsheets, calendaring, time entry and structured efficiencies. Assist Manager, Solutions Development and Support in evaluating applications development team and recommend team members for development opportunities. Documents and reports on application performance. Recommend changes where appropriate. Provides mentoring and assistance to other developers, facilitating cross-training of application support. Apply system analysis techniques and procedures to determine functional specifications. Position Qualifications: Required BA/BS degree or technical institute training and 3 or more years’ experience, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background 5 - 8+ years of relevant application development experience in the outlined technologies preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Full stack developer of web/hybrid applications using .NET and .NET Core using C# and VB.net Experience in building and maintaining Windows applications such as Windows Forms, console applications, and Windows Services in VB.net and C#. Ability to build and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures for application support and reporting Experience with X12 EDI particularly Healthcare EDI Demonstrable experience with at least one JavaScript framework - Angular (9.0+), React, Vue, Ember, etc. Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs, HTML, Javascript, CSS, JSON, XML transformation Experience with SDLC processes, spanning requirements/issue management, root cause assessment, defect tracking, build and test automation, and release management Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments Experience with Visual Studio 2015+ and Team Foundation Server Constant self-education in emerging software development technologies and methodologies Ability to communicate on a professional level with customers and staff Dynamic team player with collaboration skills Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements.
