Job Opportunity: Senior Software Engineer (Elastic Search)

Position Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Elastic Search for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and Elastic Search, along with experience mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities:

• Attend and actively participate in scrum ceremonies.
• Develop solutions that meet user requirements, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Provide support to consumers of the services built by the team.
• Write and maintain code using Java, Spring Boot, and GoLang.
• Perform Elastic Search performance tuning to ensure optimal functionality.
• Document services to maintain transparency and future supportability.

Performance Expectations:

• Coach and mentor junior developers to help them grow technically and professionally.
• Deliver an adequate amount of stories (i.e., story points) in each sprint.
• Provide application support for services consumed by internal and external teams.

First-Day Activities:

• Attend onboarding sessions.
• Complete mandatory security and compliance training.

Required Skills/Experience:

1. Proficiency with the fundamentals of Elastic Search, including indexing, analyzers, and tokenizers.
2. Knowledge of shared allocation, rebalancing, and cluster monitoring.
3. Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as GoLang, Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Quarkus, MongoDB, and microservices.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

1. Experience with Elastic Search aggregation, filters, full-text search, and Geo-search capabilities.

Educational Requirements:

• Required: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science.

Software Skills Required:

• Required Skills: Java, GoLang, Spring Boot, Node.js, and familiarity with Python.
