Senior Estimator / Estimator

£65,000 - £75,000 + bonus, car allowance, 31 days annual leave and more

YOUR NEW ROLE

• Review project drawings, contracts and specifications 

• Collaborate with colleagues; Project Managers, Designers and Engineers 

• Calculate and prepare detailed cost estimates; labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors

• Collaborate with the project team to establish and monitor project budgets

• Prepare comprehensive bid packages: including cost breakdowns, schedules and proposal documents for both clients and subcontractors

• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing

• Complete PPQ’s and ITT’s

• Assess potential risks and contingencies in project estimates and bids

• Keep accurate records: cost estimates, bids and related documents

• Report and update for project stakeholders

• Conduct B2B introductions and presentations as and when required with both clients and suppliers

• Sourcing of new clients and suppliers to meet business targets and KPI’s

ABOUT YOU

• Hold a relevant Degree 

• Site experience in Civil Engineering 

• MUST have vast experience in heavy civils, tunnelling and trenchless works

• Experienced in producing winning bids - from £500K to £20 million

• MUST have solid experience of using NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contracts

• Experienced in Bid Strategy and Risk Costing

• Project Planning and Programming 

• Solid work history within civil engineering, focus on cost estimation

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and industry practices

• Proficient user of estimating software and spreadsheet applications as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Confident in negotiations and a good communicator (written and verbal)

• AutoCAD experience (Advantageous)

• Project Management experience 

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary up to £80,000 depending upon experience and skillset
